A chemical peel is a professional skin treatment that uses a carefully selected acid solution to exfoliate the outer layers of your skin. By removing dull, damaged cells, it encourages your skin to renew itself, revealing a smoother, clearer and more even complexion underneath.
Chemical peels can help with a wide range of concerns, including dullness, uneven skin tone, sun damage, clogged pores, mild acne scarring and fine lines. Because the type and strength can be adjusted, they suit many skin types, from sensitive skin that needs a gentle refresh to skin that needs more targeted resurfacing.
At Laser and Skin District, every chemical peel starts with a skin assessment, so the peel we choose matches your skin, your goals and how much downtime you’re comfortable with.
Not all peels are the same. Lighter peels use gentle acids such as lactic, mandelic or glycolic acid to refresh the skin with little to no downtime, making them ideal for dullness, mild pigmentation and smoother texture. Salicylic acid peels work inside the pores, which makes them well suited to oily and acne-prone skin. Stronger peels reach deeper layers for more noticeable results on sun damage and uneven texture, but they need more recovery time. We’ll recommend the right option for you and adjust the strength over your course of treatments as your skin responds
A course of chemical peels can make a visible difference to how your skin looks and feels. Here’s what they can help with.

Removes dull surface cells that make skin look tired, revealing a fresher, more radiant complexion.

Helps fade dark spots, sun damage and post-acne marks for a more even-looking complexion.

Helps dissolve oil and debris inside pores, reducing congestion and breakouts.

Softens rough, uneven skin and the look of mild acne scarring.

Freshly exfoliated skin absorbs your skincare products more effectively.

Encourages skin renewal to soften the appearance of fine lines.

Peels help clear congested pores, but persistent acne often needs a broader plan. Our acne management treatments target breakouts at the source.
For deeper or longer-lasting pigmentation, a dedicated plan can combine peels with other targeted treatments.
Peels improve surface texture, while skin needling works deeper to stimulate collagen and soften the look of scarring.
For an instant refresh with no downtime, a hydro facial deeply cleanses and hydrates your skin in one session.

Your chemical peel begins with a consultation, where we assess your skin, discuss your goals and choose the right peel and strength. On the day, your skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared, then the peel solution is applied for a set time. Most people feel mild tingling or warmth, which settles quickly. The peel is then neutralised or removed, and soothing products and sunscreen are applied. Afterwards, your skin may look slightly red, and depending on the strength of the peel, you may notice light flaking or peeling for a few days. Avoid picking at flaking skin, use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day while your skin renews. We'll give you clear aftercare instructions before you leave.

Most people feel mild tingling, warmth or a slight sting while the peel is on the skin. It usually settles within minutes, and we adjust the peel to your comfort and sensitivity.
Many clients notice brighter skin after one peel. For concerns like pigmentation, acne or texture, a course of several peels spaced a few weeks apart usually gives the best results. We’ll recommend a plan at your consultation.
Lighter peels have little to no downtime, with mild redness that fades within hours. Stronger peels can cause redness and visible peeling for several days. We’ll explain what to expect before your treatment, so you can plan around it.
Many skin types can benefit, including sensitive skin and darker skin tones, but the type and strength of the peel need to be chosen carefully. We assess your skin first and may recommend a patch test.
A peel may not be suitable if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, cold sore or open wound, have sunburn, or have recently used certain acne medications such as isotretinoin. We’ll check this during your consultation
