Skin tags are small, soft growths of skin that often hang from a thin stalk. They’re very common and usually harmless, and they tend to appear where skin rubs against skin or clothing, such as the neck, underarms, eyelids, under the breasts and around the groin.
Although skin tags aren’t usually a health concern, they can be irritating. They can catch on necklaces, collars or bra straps, become sore or inflamed, or simply make you feel self-conscious. Friction, genetics, hormonal changes and weight changes can all make them more likely to develop.
At Laser and Skin District, skin tag removal starts with a careful assessment. We confirm that the growth is a skin tag, then remove it quickly and precisely, with care for the surrounding skin.
Skin tag removal is a quick, precise treatment that targets only the tag itself, leaving the surrounding skin intact. Most tags can be treated in a single short appointment, and several tags can often be removed in the same session. Before any treatment, we check each growth carefully. If something doesn’t look like a typical skin tag, or has changed in size, shape or colour, we’ll ask you to have it checked by your GP first. That way, you can feel confident that every treatment is safe and appropriate for your skin.

Your appointment starts with a quick consultation, where we examine each skin tag, confirm it's suitable for removal and explain the treatment. The removal itself is fast, usually taking just a few minutes per tag. Most people feel only a brief sting or a sensation of heat, and we'll keep you as comfortable as possible throughout. Afterwards, the treated area may look slightly red, and a small scab usually forms. This typically heals and falls away naturally within one to two weeks. Keep the area clean, avoid picking at the scab, and protect it from the sun while it heals. Larger tags occasionally need a second treatment, and we'll let you know if that's likely. Depending on the treatment, your skin may look slightly flushed or feel sensitive for a short time afterwards. Results build gradually as your skin renews, so most people see the best improvement over a course of sessions, followed by occasional maintenance treatments. Daily sun protection and a good home care routine will help you keep your results for longer.
